Mrs. Poe by Lynn Cullen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I’m not usually an historical book reader but I like books like this one a lot. It’s a story based on real life events.
The story is about a woman who’s painter husband left her and her children to paint portraits of and have affairs with other women. Fanny Osgood is the woman. She has two daughters and is a writer, an aspiring poet.
She falls in love with Edgar Allen Poe who is the toast of New York at the time. It’s a love story that takes place in a time where women were not as free as they are today. It ends sadly.
I was drawn right into the story and the time. I highly recommend this book! 🙂
